What Is Line-Editing + Copy-Editing?
Do you want your book to have that polished look? Do you want it to really sing? Trimming and tightening your sentences, making sure you mean what you say and say what you mean, making each sentence as powerful as the next--this is line-editing + copy-editing. We can make that happen!
Line-editing is literally editing line by line. In this stage of the editing, we edit your manuscript for style, tone, and consistency.
When copy-editing a manuscript, we check it for common grammatical and spelling errors. Some of the spelling errors we often catch are stylistic--misspelled numbers or measurements. Other mistakes we find are the improper spelling of non-conventional words.
When we line-edit + copy-edit a book, blog, or article, we check it for word usage. Are the words overused? Are there words that don’t belong? Are any misused? Are they used as crutches? Does the piece flow? Is it smooth? Is it choppy? Is it challenging or enjoyable? Does the tone stay the same throughout the successive passages? When it changes, is it gradual and smooth or abrupt and hard to follow? Does it slide from one emotion to the next or jerk the reader around? These are things we will be looking for and recommending corrections on.
Once your manuscript has been line-edited + copy-edited, it’ll be smoother and tighter. The sentences will be short and to the point without being abrupt or tacky. The story or article will flow. It will sing. It will be what it was meant to be… exactly how you imagined it.
What Is Developmental Editing?
Have you ever read a novel that just seemed to take forever to get to the point? Have you come across books that were missing critical information--or small bits of information the author may not have deemed important?
Have you always felt a connection to the characters? Are the chapters always where they belong? Do you find some books have too many chapters--or not enough.
These manuscripts had flaws. These books went to publication like this. What was the common factor? The manuscript didn't get a proper developmental editing. Developmental editing addresses all this and more.
Developmental editing looks at the characterization, plot, structure of the story, the story itself, tension, genre, theme, narration style, and more. During a developmental edit, the author, you, gets to see his work take shape with the help of a master hand before his very eyes.
What Is Ghostwriting?
Do you know what it means to be "ghosted?" Don't worry. It's nothing like that. What about that ghost in your cellar? Yeah... that one. It's kind of like that.
I can't imagine what it would be like to be haunted or, worse, possessed, but... let's pretend... If someone were to take over your body and write a story for you, you'd get the credit, right? I know, weird, but I'm going somewhere. Just hang with me.
Now imagine you can get the credit for writing something that someone else wrote without anyone taking over your body. That would be ghostwriting.
You would give me the idea. I would write the story. You would get the credit fair and square. No squabble. No fuss.
And what do I get? I get a good paycheck, the awesomeness of being able to write something great and learn something new, and a smile at the end of the day.
Do you have a book, an article, a blog, or more that needs a writer? Have you thought about having someone write it and then putting your own name on there as the author?
Who Needs a Ghostwriter?
There are several reasons you might need a ghostwriter. You might be too busy and just need someone to cover for you. This is understandable. Blog writers and article writers do this all the time. As I said, your name would go on the work, and you'd get all the credit. I'd have absolutely NO rights to the writing. It's be ALL YOURS.
Ghostwriters can be used to write new books for new or established authors. I have two clients right now that have given web seminars or webcasts and want those turned into books or blogs. I ghostwrite for them.
Sometimes, a ghostwriter is hired to write more books in a series under the author's name. Some ghostwriters write under a famous author's name to carry on their work after their death. At other times, publishers establish pseudonyms (fictitious names) that a whole series is written under. For instance, the "Nancy Drew" series is written by several ghostwriters who write in the same style but are all presented under the name, Carolyn Keene.

Blogs and Other Articles
We use SEO and outside links to increase traffic to your site. We use headings to break up the content a little, which makes the article easier to read and not seem so long and overwhelming. People these days tend to have a six-second attention span. Breaking up a blog article in this way will keep your readers around for longer. All these together make for a higher volume of traffic and a larger readership.
We use statistics, fun facts, recent or catastrophic news, or other news your readers might be following closely and more to bring the desired audience to your site. These elements pique the passer-by's interest so they'll click, stay, and maybe even click that "follow" or "like" button.
We also run your articles through Copyscape and Grammarly Premium to make sure they are not too close to any other material out there. We attach a screenshot of the Copyscape results when we send your articles so that you have them for your records.
We also ghostwrite books in both fiction and non-fiction. Nishoni Harvey, your Authority Author Mentor and Ghostwriter, has authored extensively in both, and each book and novel has been published or is scheduled for publication
